Vintage Adoration

A Victorian mansion
overlooking the vast elyssian fields
all to myself and just to me.

Gloom did clobber
motivating for a freshening walk
all blank I loitered, I strolled across.

Brume swept in
the craven shadows languidly vanished
slowly as I moved, I heard a voice.

A dulcet melody
chanted by an alluring fairy
no feathery wings, not even a halo.

Tempted to glance
I ran just to fall
A fall of eternity, plunge of love.

She came scooting
a helping hand to lend
distress defeated by her soothing touch.

Her turquoise eyes
unravelled  the depths of oceans
and her dazzling vision beamed past me.

The rosy cheeks
doubled the petals of spring
and the mesmerising aura slowed my mind.

Her golden frizzies
engulfed me in childhood nostalgia
when maple candy floss was all I liked.

Her tremulous lips
uttered words of concern, fear
to me it sounded like divine hymns.

As I assured
the strained face of hers relaxed
a loving smile is all she gave.

In a blink
the mist just got opaque
she slowly but gleefully hopped away.

Signalling Signals

A walk through life
many expressions, many emotions
many joys and many more pains.

A woman passed by
a wrinkled face and cherub in hand
sand being custodian of her wishes.

A kid running past on the tack
a blink of mischief and innocence
adorned the attire of responsibility.

An old couple by the corner
hoping to nullify the lost
surrendered to God’s mercy.

Frequently we do come across lives
dampened by the sadness
seldom do we realize.

Often is it easy to pity
Pride we feel on sympathizing
Ashamed should we be
for wearing the hat of ignorance.

Humraahi Waqt

My first attempt with hindi poetry. I know it may not be the best but yes I will keep improving my skills.

Waqt ke saaye ne humko aisa toda

har raaste ka rukh hai moda.

Ek kashmakash si lagti hai zindagi

har pal mein hai sirf bandagi.

Doosron ke madadgaar the hum

ab raha humaare saath toh sirf gham.

Doston ne bhi nahin apnaaya

duniya ne kar jo diya paraaya.

Phir bhi hum chal pade usi rah par

khojte hue ek suhaana safar.

Chalte chalte humein yeh hua ehsaas

ki kuch pal sukoon ke the aas paas.

Aaakhir pahunch hi gaye hum us chhor

jahan tha apnapan aur sukoon charon aor.

Deep meaning lie within hollow words!

Paint the dreams you see with the colours you live

for it is your canvas to unveil true success.

Success perching to royalty adorned with riches

is mere fame with a mocking name.

Name comes aglow by the deeds you do

assessed by it are you but only you.

You may cling to éclat and just specie

it counts as none unless enclaved by love.

Love is not just breezing in from one

but all who beyond doubt admire you.

You may have arrived at the epitome

of what you think is success and love in Life.

Life! a word often overheard; a conundrum misunderstood

seldom do we endeavour to realize its worth and live it.

Dream and Scream!

I dream and I dream out loud

to be the one second to none

life does give me a chase and run.

I dream and I dream out loud

to reach the epitome of joy

snags do mock and say Oh! boy!

I dream and I dream out loud

to kindle the spark of zeal

clime does switch and welkin turns teal.

I dream and I dream out loud

to lend a helping hand to all

poised at the edge and an abrupt fall.

I dream and I dream out loud

                                                to endure deep-rooted friendship

storms do strike; wrecking the anchored ship.

I dream and I dream out loud

to embrace the bright and give it a go

Alas! that’s when am struck with ego.

Spring has Sprung

Yuhoo! Yippie! Yay!

Goodies came in April to May

Spring was all here to say

Beds of Tulips grew and lay

Sunshine blessed the entire day

Colours overshadowed the gloomy grey

Parks with kids and their own fray

Cathedrals rung for a call to pray

Fruits all around in Nature’s tray

A drizzle with aura, splashing mild spray

Boats lined up along the quay

every soul relishing their own way

Wonderful it was a day

Keeping all the blues at bay

From INDIA to (W)INDIA!

Yes! It was a moment of palpitations……Yes! It was a moment of excessive sweating!…..Yes! it was the most crucial instance….. And then came the moment of Glory to a Nation which has proved its mettle almost in every field. I was never a cricket fan but this World Cup and the twist and action in every match just got me closer to it. Its similar to how a hungry man gets attracted to the delicious fragrance of food cooking on woods.

The World Cup final was a full attention seeker for all the reasons. In one hand, Sachin’s last world cup and on the other Murli’s last ODI. It does make sense to make this final the most sorted one. The day just began with laziness and thoughts of not watching the match but gradually the Patriotism pulled me to the Hall and there I was astonished to see the throng cheering for almost every ball of the Match. Sometimes, quick decisions actually prove to be one of the best ones. Yes, I was glued to the seats watching the match; over by over…..ball by ball.It was a nice feeling to see even other country nationals cheering for India. Everything seemed like a Rollercoaster Journey as the COOL DUDE of the team made some serious changes to bowling. But, whatever the decision was, result came to follow us. It was in the last 7 overs that all of us started celebrating already for the jinx that was broken after 28 years.

In a quintessence, the Indian team reflected all elements of human nature. Unity, where U always came before I. Brotherhood, where an International coach was made to feel at home. Generosity, where the cup belonged to 1.2 billion people and not just a team of 11. Respect; that was earned from quality and clean cricket. Achievement, a dream that turned into reality after months of hard-work.

Murli will be missed for the quality cricket he played. I hope Sachin enthrals the world with his talent in forthcoming years. To sum it up, it was one man’s dream…..accomplished by a team of 10…..to bring Glory to a Nation of 1.2 Billion.

Hats Off Men in Blue!

A Whispering Wish

I wish I could ever be

a bird above the clouds so high

gliding over the plains and hills

like an emperor in the sky.

But I wonder will the world ever see ?!!

I wish I could ever be

a bumblebee prying for honey

in a colorful world of my own

where the days are just sunny.

But I wonder will the world ever see ?!!

I wish I could ever be

a vibrant blue orchid

giving away the fragrance of Love

many hearts would surely skid.

But I wonder will the world ever see ?!!

I wish I could ever be

a drop in the rain

touching every walk of Life

hiding away the obvious pain.

But I wonder will the world ever see ?!!

I wish I could ever be

a rock amidst the bare

standing mighty and tall

they would stop by and stare.

But I wonder will the world ever see ?!!

I wish! I wish!

I-magine

Gazed at her for a little while

enjoyed every bit of her style.

The sparkle in her Blue eyes,

reminded me of the marvel of the skies.

The pleasant smile on her face,

sorrows never left any trace.

The dazzling beauty of her hair,

seemed like many jewels of solitaire.

The humble care that she showed,

my world was lil more slowed.

Being sympathetic to one and all,

chances of finding this were very small.

I seldom come across divinity,

to my surprise it was in my vicinity.

The vivacity of her presence,

elevated my tour’s essence.

It was not just another day,

as it kept my worries at bay.

Will I ever come across her presence and might,

depends totally on my I-magination’s flight.

Lost and WON

Adored a girl from the beginning of May,

mind engulfed in her thoughts almost everyday.

Her blue eyes giving a stare,

was overwhelmed to see it was rare.

The smile on her face,

motivated me to fight another race.

Her long hair darker than darkest night,

all set to show its glistening might.

Her innocence like a child,

her touch so soothing and mild.

The panache in her walk,

made the world turn and talk.

I admired somebody,

a day made me realized I was nobody.

The time of dismay came,

was I a victim of blame game?

She said it was a fault in me,

but I could hardly see.

She turned again and again,

Alas! to witness my pain.

Forgotten for a while,

unable to crawl even a mile.

A cherub whispered in my ear,

loads left to be conquered my dear!

The string of lost hopes,

aided as mighty ropes.

Arose yet again to the morning glory,

with a fresh start to my ended story.

Lessons conned from my past,

propelled me to move lil more fast.

Future seemed to be full of accolades,

sentiments of past haunted as sharp blades.

Left no time for thoughts of gloom,

as I was busy weaving a fresh handloom.

Path to success was embellished with precious stones,

every turn astonished me with new thrones.

Success always invited me,

failures never threatened me.

Discovering from the past,

recovering faster and fast,

I left everyone aghast.

There came another May,

the world had lots to say.

A Joker of misfortunes,

was now a King of splendid Fortunes.
